I’ve tested a lot of complexion products over the years, and mature skin definitely changes what “good makeup” looks like. Heavy coverage, dry finishes, and formulas that settle into fine lines just don’t work for me anymore.

So I put Prime Prometics PrimeSkin CC+ Cream ($46) up against It Cosmetics CC+ Cream ($39) to see which one actually performed better on mature skin. After wearing both for full days, one stood out pretty quickly.

If You Want Makeup That Won’t Settle Into Fine Lines… Prime Prometics

It Cosmetics gives fuller coverage right away, but on my skin, it started looking heavier throughout the day. I noticed it collecting around my smile lines and emphasizing texture by the afternoon.

Prime Prometics felt much lighter. The liquid-to-powder formula blended easily, blurred pores, toned down redness, and never looked cakey. My skin still looked natural, just smoother and more even.

If You Want Coverage… Tie

This one depends on your preference.

It Cosmetics gives more full-coverage glam, while Prime Prometics looks softer and more skin-like. I personally preferred the natural finish from Prime Prometics, but if you love maximum coverage, It Cosmetics may appeal more to you.

If You Want Skincare Benefits and Hydration… Prime Prometics

Prime Prometics really impressed me here. The formula includes Bioferment Serum and Avocado Oil Complex, so my skin stayed hydrated and comfortable all day.

Instead of feeling dry or tight after hours of wear, my skin still looked fresh by the end of the day. It felt more like skincare with coverage added in.

If You Want Better Value… Prime Prometics

Price-wise, It Cosmetics comes in slightly lower at around $39, while Prime Prometics is priced at $46. But after testing both, I actually felt Prime Prometics gave me better value for the wear experience alone.

It Cosmetics looked nice initially, but Prime Prometics stayed smoother and more natural-looking throughout the day without settling into fine lines or emphasizing texture. For me, that made the extra few dollars worth it.

The One I’ll Keep Reaching For

After testing both, Prime Prometics became the clear winner for me.

It Cosmetics gives strong coverage, but Prime Prometics simply worked better with my skin instead of against it. It blurred pores, softened redness, stayed comfortable all day, and never settled into fine lines.

Most importantly, it made my skin look healthy and natural, which is exactly what I want from makeup now.
